Description

There are two sizes of honeycombs available, one 8mm and one 6mm. I prefer 8mm, but a beekeeper said there should be also smaller holes for smaller wild bee species. Both were perfect.

There are 184 holes in the 8mm version and 317 holes in the 6mm version.

To prevent material aging, I would prefer PETG, PLA is definitely not suitable for outdoor use. ABS or ASA are better for sure, but they are far more difficult to print.

No matter what material it is made of, I would not hang the bee hotel in the blazing sun. Under a roof is definitely the best place.

This model is easy to print, but to avoid warping, I printed it with open door, 70°C bed temperture and with max. 8 mm³/s.

Drawn in Solidworks.
