Description

Boost Me (for free)

I recently learned that a friend didn't know how to boost models without this button so I'm adding it to all of mine.  If you boost a model you like - the user gets points (which we trade for filament).  You can't use your boost tokens for anything else and they eventually expire - so go boost someone's work (even if it isn't mine)!

I wanted something to cover the screen on my X1C for the occasion where I have it running while others (namely my kiddo) are moving around nearby. My printer lives on a cart so I also thought it would be nice to protect the screen a bit while it's not in use. I found Roland Deschain's awesome X1C Faceplate Model and made some quick adjustments to turn it into a complete cover. Roland's model retains access of the SD card and I added a little more clearance so it can be taken on and off a little more easily while still fitting snugly. It would be very easy to add text in Bambu Studio if you wanted to name your printer or give it some personalization. Hope someone enjoys it!

Update 02/14/25

I added a new print profile that takes advantage of dual color filament by varying the bottom surface pattern.  I did this by printing a dual color (dark matte blue and matte white PLA) filament using this incredible model by user fmod and changing the bottom surface pattern to “octagram spiral”.  If your'e not familiar - a dual color filament like that extrudes both colors at once (which is very different from the multi-color effects we can get with an AMS).  The possibilities are endless with fmod's model and this cover was a great place to experiment with how to use a multicolor filament!  Feel free to switch the bottom surface pattern to try another - otherwise I'll post another profile as I try them out!

Update 03/01/25

I uploaded a novelty version of this with the phrase “May the Filament Forever Fall in your Favor”.  Head over here to check it out!
