Description
This is a set of screw-on nozzles for woodworking glue bottles. The nozzle supplied on most glue bottles is fine for applying a wide strip of glue to a board, but sometimes we need to apply smaller dabs or more precise daps to an area. Or perhaps we need to apply glue inside a hole (think dowels, biscuits, beadlock and tenons). Another project that is hard to apply glue is a vertical surface. If the bottle is not full it can be hard to squeeze out the glue.
To help in these cases, presented here are a number of nozzles.
- Short straight one with narrow tip
- Long straight one narrow tip
- Short straight one with wide tip
- Long straight one with wide tip
- Long straight one with narrow tip that squirts out the end as well as the sides (good for dowel holes)
- Narrow tipped nozzle bent at 45 degrees (for vertical surfaces)
- Wide tipped nozzle bent at 45 degrees (for vertical surfaces)
- A basic cap to close up a bottle
- Caps for sealing the tip of the nozzle
- Cap that uses flexible tubing and tubing connector (for hard to get to locations):
- Tubing connector: PC4-M6 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NANKRTD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Tubing: https://www.amazon.com/PTFE-Teflon-tubing-10ft-Allen/dp/B07B8CK8L9?th=1
- Glue moves slowly in the tube. Best used with thin (low viscosity) glues.
- Print with a layer height at 0.08 mm ( or smallest setting your printer has) so the threads for the connector form. As an alternate print at 0.2 mm and use a M6-1 tap to form the thread. As another alternate just push hard while turning to get the connector to self-tap.
Some notes:
- These screw nicely on to 8 oz. Titebond glue bottles and 8 oz. Elmer’s Carpenter’s Wood Glue bottles. May fit other bottles, if you find other ones, please note it in the comments for others to see.
- The nozzle with multiple holes at the top does not seal tight when using a cap – suggest you do not store glue with this nozzle attached.
- May want to flush out nozzles with hot water after use (or just print new ones if they clog).
Printing: With one exception, the models are printed using 0.20 mm layer height. The screw-on cap with the hole in it for tubing ( and the tubing cap) is printed using 0.08 mm layer height. This cap and the plain screw-on cap are printed upside-down while all the nozzles and their caps are printed standing up.
11/23/2024: Created a related model which is a nozzle/cap that connects 2 woodworking glue bottles together so you can drain one into the other. Check it out at: https://makerworld.com/en/models/815574#profileId-757757
12/24/2024: I've designed and uploaded more gluing accessories, including four more nozzles, at https://makerworld.com/en/models/910319#profileId-871062
10/19/2025: Added a requested nozzle that is skinnier. I printed it without supports - works ok - couple of strings to remove. Add support if you want. You can get this using the “Download STL/CAD Files” pulldown.
