Toy Tank - Orange Star

Introduction:

This is a fun little toy tank model. I took some inspiration from the Advance Wars Orange Star tank, with some artistic liberties taken, given the small size of the sprite.

There was a firing mechanism inside the top and some shells that went with it at one point, but it was fiddly due to the parts being really small….so that didn't make the final cut. I would like to update to bring that feature back at some point if I can make it robust, but for now it's just the tank :)

This is a really easy build - All of the parts are easy snap together fits, and the tracks should roll quite easily once they are freed up. 

This tracks are a version of my finger tracks, and can be swapped out with any other tread version for some customization!

That said the treads can be a little tricky to print - I would recommend sticking to stay away from silk PLA and ensure you have excellent build plate adhesion for those (if you're not sure, be sure to wash your plate).

Printed at 100% scale this will come out at roughly 80mmx 80mm

Printing:

Use my profile for recommended settings and orientations

• 0.4mm nozzle,
• 0.16mm layer height
• no supports required - orient parts as in my print profile.
• no brim
• Tracks
  • slow down first layer
  • 0.2mm layer height ok for these

  • 3 walls

     

     

Assembly:

Assemble as shown below.

I recommend a drop or two of glue on some of the small parts if you intend to let small children play with it.
