Description

This is a Fully enclosed 1in riser for the Qidi plus4 printer, Consisting of 6 separate pieces. This has slots done over the grab handles and along the back for material reduction (this is a hefty print as it is) but can be used to put flashdrives, ect, as well. Tolerancing on the V slots between pieces is tight (slowly wiggle back and forth or use a small mallet on the bottom and they will press together) so make sure to consider this when setting print parameters.   I printed out of PLA-CF to get a matte finish and make sure that there was not going to be any issues with the chamber temps this machine is capable of. The USB port is fully accessible and the factory filament holder can be used with the larger diameter slip on dowel that comes pre-installed on the printer with 1kg spools. Good luck!

I'm curious, what's the purpose of the riser? Does it enable something I don't see?

it gives the filament tube clearance so it isn't pushed up against the glass. Reduces wear on the tube and makes loading filament easier because it reduces the bend radius which is especially important for materials that are more brittle or stiff such as PPS-CF which I have been printing a lot on this printer.
