Here is my 2023 Christmas Ornament. I design one each year that I can customize with each family members name and the year it was made (look at my previous posts for examples).
This year I designed a 1950's painted textured glass inspired ornamental made in a multi-part and multi-color style. When I grew up my mother had many ornaments in this style which were hers from childhood. The design incorporates a central ring that can be modified in CAD or PrusaSlicer to personalize it by embossing a name and year.
Depending on your printer tuning I have included a few different pins to allow for a press together fit. Otherwise choose a looser pin fit and add a dab of superglue to hold the pieces together.
I printed my ornaments with 3 perimeters and 0% infill on all components. This is a good balance of strength with utilizing minimal filament and speeds up the print time. I also used m600 filament changes at layer heights to get the horizontal color strips. The height of the filament changes I used are 23mm / 25.6mm / 31.8mm / 34.4mm.
I did this design in Onshape. This means with the link below and a free Onshape account you can modify the native design to fit your needs and add a name or year of your choice. I have also included a Step File, and a clean STL for you to modify in whatever software you like to use. Feel free to modify, reshare, customize to your hearts content.
I hope you enjoy this print.
