Description
What's this? What for?
This is my own project for building model railway HO scale (1:87) Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) style Era III (1945-1970) Train Signals following this specification.
This is part of a complete project involving:
- 3D printing (these pages)
- Electronics (PCB design and soldering) (github)
- Arduino code (demo, DCC and JMRI integration) (github)
All these parts are my creation I'm happy to share with you.
ATTENTION: this is not a beginner's project. It requires 0.2mm nozzle and Smooth PEI Plate all originals parts from Bambu.
It pushes the A1 to its limits in small detail printing and precision.
Short specifications
- High details 3D printing for signals faces and mast including caps without need of support and glue
- 3 signal faces for entry, bloc and exit signals as described here.
- PCB design for easy soldering and use of charlieplexing in order to reduce wires required (2 to 4 wires)
- Arduino for easy, flexible and cheap management
- JMRI and DCC integration
- Smooth fading effects for switching on and off as demonstrated in my POC on github
- variety of panels for signaling
Is this final? Commercial?
- 3D models are final, printed, tested in real life.
- PCB is final (v3).
- Panels are easy to print and attach. Other panels can be built. Please ask.
- Arduino code is available
