Description
Do you want to use Brushless motors in form factor of L€GO PF elements?
Then this is project for you!
There are two versions of this model, for 0.5 or 0.6 module gears for the internal planetary reduction.
Each version has slightly different gear ratio (Ring-Planet-Sun teeth number)
0.5m - 1:6 (40-16-8)
0.6m - 1:5 (32-12-8)
You will need:
1x Brushless motor (2430, 2435, 2440, 2030, 2035, 2040, 2045 or similar)
3x module 0.5 gears 16 teeth, or 0.6 module gears with 12 teeth (0.6module are printable with 0.4mm nozzle)
3x 2×10mm metal pins
2x M2.5x6mm or M 2.5x8mm countersunk head bolts
3x screws for plastic 1.6x6mm
4x M3 brass heat-insert nuts
4x M3x50mm bolts (or different length, depending on your motor, 50mm tested with 2430 and 2435 motors) - or shorter and omit the back cover part
1x ball bearing 8*12*4
- 1x 8 tooth brass sprocket gear, 0.5 or 0.6 module
sheet of plastic foil (for example from hard food container)
printed parts
tools for cleaning prints
grease
You might need to test all mount plate versions, tested on 3 motors and each came with different position of holes relative to cables output.
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible for any issues caused by this assembly. Brushless motors are not supposed to be used with plastic toys, they generate heat.
If you do not know what brushless motors are or how to operate them, learn about them first (articles, videos about Brushless motors basics for RC hobby for example). They need more advanced electronic control than original DC motors used for construction sets toys.
