Description

Really liked the filament cutter by BC Designs. Wanted to be able to make a clean 90 degree cut of the PTFE tubing and did not like the cutters out there. Remixed the filament cutter to accept the 4mm PTFE tubing and added PTFE lettering to make them easier to distinguish.

Parts Required

  • 1 x original BL filament cutter. 2 spares were shipped with my P1P and I bought 3 more during a filament order.
  • 2 x m3 x 30. 3 came with the printer, screws that held the heat bead down during shipping. They are the ones that have coarse thread at the bottom and smooth/no thread up top.
  • 2 x springs. Mine measured around 4mm x 25mm long and were quite soft. Got them out of Bic click pens.

Printing

  • PLA is fine as the PTFE cuts easily
  • Included 3mf file setup at 0.20 layer height @ 10% gyroid infill
  • 2 walls
  • Added supports, but they are easy to remove
  • Seam set to the rear of the model to keep the logo clean
