Adjustable Utensil Drawer Spacers

Adjustable spacers for when your kitchen drawer organizer is too long and your utensils keep sliding too far back.

Features a ratcheting mechanism to lock in your desired spacing, while still being quickly and easily adjustable when needed. 

How to Customize

Best Option:

The Fusion 360 file is included, so you can customize the dimensions to fit any size space. All the values you need to adjust are in the User Parameters.

• minLength is the approximate length of the spacer when fully retracted. The max length (fully extended) will be double this, minus a few mm.
• numHoles can safely be set to more than you need to span the full length, so recommend leaving this a large number; just ignore the warning it generates.

Alternate Option:

The provided print profile includes plates with separated backstops, plus separated main bodies in two different lengths. If you just want one of those lengths you can scale the backstops separately in your slicer to whatever size you need and then superglue them to the separated bodies. Centerline cutouts are included in these models to assist with alignment.

I don't recommend trying to scale the main bodies to make them longer, it probably won't work well.

Post-Processing

Remove the supports. There's enough of a gap included in the model that you shouldn't need to worry about sanding down the support interfaces afterward.

To minimize the need for supports, the outer body piece uses a sacrificial layer to turn two overhangs into a bridge. Use snips to remove this layer.
