Description

This model is for an open-back outlet box or mounting bracket designed for low-voltage devices in an existing wall for use with Ethernet, TV, audio, telephone or other low-voltage application. This box should not be used for 120-volt or 240-volt outlets or light switches. This box clamps to the existing walls using the 3D printed levers and does not require mounting to existing 2x4 or 2x6 wall framing lumber. This box can accommodate walls up to 1 inch thick.

The box has 4 small holes that can be used to mark the wall opening or corners of wall cutout. Also, included is an option template that can be used to mark the wall cutout. The inside perimeter of the template marks the cutout. When marking the wall for cutout, ensure that there is no 2x4 or other framing lumber directly behind the cutout area.

The box requires two #6 pan-head sheet metal screws that are at least 1 ¼ inches long for up to ¾ ich wall thickness such as a Home Depot Everbilt model 801011. A screw length of 1 ½ or 1 5/8 inches is required for thicker walls.

I printed in PETG however PETG, ASA or ABS would be good choices for a durable long-life product. I would not recommend PLA. I printed with 5 wall loops and 25% infill for strength. The assembly requires 1 Outlet Box, 2 outlet box levers and 2 #6 screws.
