Description

So here is my version of the A1 drawer riser.. i was inspired by maCyo42 AMS riser.. so i kinda followed his style of designing them..

The riser fits with the A1 printer base and rises the printer about 95mm.. it comes with 2 drawers in front and another 2 drawers on the sides at the back as optionals.. Just print the panel provided if you dont want the drawers on the sides..

The riser is connected using long pegs.. but you can also glue the parts together

There are optional inserts for the drawers as well as the front drawer panels.. you can print the plain pattern or with the Bambu Lab logo.. the drawer inserts have 2 options.. Nozzle holder or just partition.. if you want to print it with a grid like mine.. you can see download the profile that i dedicated just for the inserts..

The risers are all ventilated so that air could pass through the bottom of the printer.. There are also 2 slots for buildplates..

And since you need to remove the rubber bumper on the back to insert the printer into the riser.. i made an optional print of the bumper integrated to the riser.. The bumper and A1 riser feet can be printed using TPU.. currently i'm just using a generic TPU 95A filament from local store..

Printed the whole riser using Bambu Lab PETG HF filament.. using grey, black and white.. you could change the black color to green to match the Bambu Lab theme color.. for the basic without the optional.. you'll need:

  • PETG HF grey - 1.5kg
  • PETG HF black/green - 150g
  • PETG HF white  - 500g
  • TPU 95A - 50g

If you want to use the bambu filament.. please use my affiliate link to buy them..

I also made a poop bucket that aligns to the A1 riser.. you can use 10mm neodyme round magnets to lock them in place.. I also added a poop guard so it drops down to the bucket.. both have the same design and look as the A1 riser..

I kinda like the riser since it makes the A1 printer slightly higher on my table.. so i dont have to bend so much trying to reach the printer..

Anyway.. i hope you'll like my A1 drawer riser..

I also made a LED version that has switches to control add-on LED light strips to the A1.. You can get it here at my shop..

@fay3dlab Would you be able to modify this to work with this brace for top mounted ams?https://makerworld.com/en/models/462582#profileId-371091

wooww.. that bracket is huge.. was it able to print right at the edge there.. @HumaneCoder i can remix it to fit with my riser.. but i'll have to split the bracket in 2.. and maybe make some grooves to connect them together.. i'll PM you the file to help test print if you're ok with that

Thank you. yes it was able to print there. I'm trying to figure out your design and if I can add a support on the edge in front of the back drawers to support this. if I come up with something I will let you know

why the panda if a1 screen exists?

Replying to @Ken_Kitashi :
Larger screen, at eye level, more accessible functions and, incidentally, more fun. But not essential, I grant you.

Sounds tempting. What kind of functions/features does it offer over basic screen? Is it worth getting?

@fay3dlab Can print this in PLA+ or PLA Pro instead of PETG? and can this work with Top Mount Enclosure? This is my A1 setup, can it work with this?

Incredible. Could an adapter be designed for the riser to make it compatible with the rotating vertical AMS mount: https://makerworld.com/en/models/796462?from=search#profileId-735644?

I could try making it.. But I think the vertical mount will be unstable

Ah yes, why is that? It works on the feet. By providing support for the tube from the contact surface ("ground") and a larger tube, that should work, shouldn't it? I have the engineering ideas, but not yet in 3D ;)

the vertical mount will be floating around 80cm from the ground.. you'll need to add like a screw extending to the ground to help stabilize the mount.. if not the whole vertical mount will hang on the z frame..

Nice print! Did it work fine with PLA? I’m afraid to print it in PLA and get problems with the hot bottom

Yes.. You do need to remove the rubber bump.. It's just double sided taped together.. I made a replacement tpu bump at the back of the printer that works the same as the bumper

Hi @fay3dlab , thank you for your work on this base. I find it fantastic. I finished assembling all the parts over the weekend and wanted to place the printer on it… However, my printer doesn't sit properly on the parts. When I look at the printer from the front, I can wiggle it slightly to the right and left. So it really tilts, Is this a known problem? Did I overlook something? I am grateful for any help. PS: In the image, I have drawn the "angle of rotation" showing how the printer can move on the riser

The printer should fit into the riser.. Did you check under the printer if there is anything blocking it.. Share a pic of the top of your riser too..

Yes I did. There are just the regular feets. I cant understand why it wont fit. I hope you can see something on the riser picture I attached what I'm missing.

Replying to @Fire2Ice :
Everything looks OK of your print.. The tilting is it just on the front? Or the whole printer is tilting? Maybe the feet is hitting the frame of the riser

@fay3dlab I am currently printing the first parts. Where do the TPU feet go after that? I'm not sure about that yet.

at the back.. cause you will need to remove the bambu bumper that is next to the heatbed wires.. my bumper should help replace it should you push your printer right back to a wall.. so your heatbed wires wont get squished..

@fay3dlab thanks, are the "Pegs" tight and loose with you? Mine are so loose that I would have to glue them, hence the question to you.

It's slightly loose.. Glueing is a good idea.. Once you test fit everything first

stunning design and provides much needed force distribution for my A1 with the AMS top mounted. everything makes sense and assembles with ease. the only thing I couldn’t figure out is what is the large TPU rectangular thing for?

that bumper is to replace the one on A1 at the back.. so the wire won't bend when put against wall

I hope I didn’t miss anything but I didn’t have anything to remove that was that large. just the glued on footpads
