Description

I couldn't find an existing French cleat model on MakerWorld that I liked, so I created this one from scratch. I wanted a strong, customizable bracket that I could use to hang various items on walls (my first use was to hang a plywood utility tote on the wall, which is shown in the pictures). My design was done fully parametrically in Fusion so I could adapt it to suit a variety of uses.

This model also includes spacers which can be mounted to the bottom corners to keep the hung object parallel with the wall. (Two pairs of parallel brackets could be used instead to keep the top and bottom of the hung piece rigidly attached to the wall.)

Supports for the screw slots are recommended and 100% infill for strength.

This file contains 5 sizes of brackets (2 inch, 4 inch, 6 inch, 8 inch, and 10 inch lengths) and 3 sizes of spacers (0.5 inch, 0.75 inch, and 1 inch diameters), all at 0.25 inch thickness (gap between hung object and wall).

A Fusion Parametric file with detailed descriptions on all parameters is included. (The original F3D file did not reference the “FitTolerance” parameter correctly, so a new file has been uploaded labelled “Update01”)
