Travel Puzzle Map United States and Canada

The Puzzles Contest needed a real puzzle. A huge amount of work went into designing this model and I hope you or your children will enjoy it. 
 

Do you know where all United States states are located? What about the provinces and territories of Canada?

Use it for educational purposes or for a cool party game. Print two sets of the puzzle and challenge your friends to see who solves it first.

The deluxe travel case makes sure that no pieces are lost. Moreover, once the case is unfolded, it becomes the perfect canvas for building your puzzle.

Everything is printed in place. The case requires support only for the puzzle area. Please consider using PETG for support if you print with PLA filament.

Not recommended for small children who might swallow the small parts.

I have only one AMS, so I can print maximum 4 colors at a time. That is why for the fist version of the puzzle, you need to use the following print profiles:

1. Traveling Case:
   1. Blue for Water
   2. Any other color for the rest of the case
2. Yellow States:
   1. Blue for Water
   2. Any other color for the states
   3. Optional: a different color for labels
3. Brown and Green States:
   1. Blue for water
   2. Black for labels
   3. Brown or any other color for a group of states
   4. Green or any other color for the other group of states
4. Gray States:
   1. Blue for Water
   2. Any other color for the states
   3. Optional: a different color for labels (I used Black)
5. Red and White Canadian Provinces:
   1. Blue for water
   2. Black for labels
   3. Red or any other color for a group of provinces
   4. White or any other color for the other group of provinces

Important to know:

Note that there is only a 0.2mm clearance between tiles. That is why when you completed the puzzle the tiles are not super-tight (clearances are cumulative). 

For example, The North-West part of Alaska is clamped between the sides of the case cavity, so 0.2 mm clearance is perfect.  The states in the middle of the map, move a bit more, because of the cumulative clearances.

I am studying the opportunity to tighten individual tolerances in order to make the fit tighter. As you can imagine, this takes a bit of time and experimentation. An alternative would be going "high-tech" and adding a tightening button to be activated after you complete the puzzle. Stay tuned for news in this regard.

That being said, the current puzzle is perfectly playable. All the kids I gave it to were thrilled. Their parents even more so. :)
