Description

Introduction

Have you ever wanted to use the best shape puzzle ever designed?

Are you intelligent (or wish to be) and realise that when I design something you should immediately print it as I am always right?

If you answered yes or no to these questions you need Crazy Curves.

Solution

The Crazy Curves shape puzzle contains 10 different puzzle pieces, the gameboard and a perfectly fitting lid.

Each shape is a unique design and they can all be placed in the gameboard at the same time. That is the object of the puzzle, you put all the shapes into the puzzle board without overlapping another shape.

Crazy Curves can be used at home, work, and on the go as the lid is perfect as a carry case for your most important puzzle.

Place one or more pieces randomly in the gameboard and then try to place the remaining pieces.

Starting Points

I have provided a PDF guide (below) that gives you 24 increasingly more challenging starting points. Those starting points are also displayed in the images above (and below).

Benefits

  • You will become a better member of society
  • Your brain will increase in size by at least 500%
  • You will be able to know if those around you think you are smart (they will)
  • You will walk with a proud stride (or use your adaptive technology with more pride)
  • Climate change will ease
  • Political discourse will become polite and intelligent
  • World hunger will become a thing of the past

† One or more of these benefits may not come true.

Print Options

  • AMS
    1. Shapes 1 - 4
    2. Shapes 5 - 8
    3. Shapes 9 - 10
    4. Base (single colour)
    5. Lid (embossed, single colour)
  • A1 Mini AMS
    • Same as AMS, just ready for A1 mini

The rest are choices for those who want a two-colour lid, one colour shapes or no AMS.

  • Lid (2 colour)
  • Shapes Mono 1-10
  • Shapes Colour
    • (Each plate has a different shape)

Instructions

There are 24 puzzle start points included to begin your puzzling world.

They start easy and get increasingly more difficult.

Steps

  1. Locate the matching shapes found on the numbered starting point
  2. Position those shapes exactly as shown.
  3. Take each remaining shape in turn and try and locate a suitable location to place it.
  4. You may need to reposition the shapes not shown in the starting point until all remaining shapes fit in the board.
  5. Once you have positioned all the shapes, you are ready to move on to the next starting point to progress your journey.
  6. Once you have completed all the starting points, you earn a hardy pat on the back.

Congratulations

What a perfect model. You cannot tell it apart from the original.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I do not have the original, I did it all by eye from a photo.

Perfection. 4 of these cases fit in the crazy box with 120 screws (https://makerworld.com/en/models/69357?designId=69357#profileId-73623). Perfect for making kids work hard for their loot bags at my son’s birthday party. Many thanks.

You are very welcome. I’m glad it fits into your diabolical plan enacted against children.

Yup. Scaled them 97.5%. It is like it was designed for it. Also, last night we had a family competition: who can solve the puzzle first, so we could close the cases and put them in the box. Great fun! I recommend printing several cases and do contests.

I have only just seen this as you replied to someone who left a comment and not to me the designer! The model is 100x100x22mm when sealed in the box. I would not recommend this for young children as there is a small possibility they could swallow one of the pieces. The smallest is still large, but, caution should be paramount when kids are involved.

Very nice. I think you solve the loot bags problem for my son's upcoming birthday party. Have you considered adding a hinge for the case? That would be the only reason for a remix I could think of.

I did, but ruled it out as I try to have all my models compatible with the A1 mini where possible. It would also have required a latch mechanism which would complicate the print and possibly introduce quality issues. Remember, Joe Public isn’t forgiving even if the model is free you should read some of the occasional rude and offensive things that people say. Lucky kids.

I understand your concern. If you want, we can discuss options for avoiding a latch mechanism. The case in this model does not have a latch and closes securely. https://makerworld.com/en/models/641580#profileId-567567

I have that style on the model case already, it would be overly difficult to make it work in a revised version. It still will not allow it to be printed on an A1 mini and that was my primary concern. I like the case with its existing base and lid, the top snaps into the base easily, stays on firmly, quick and simple to print what isn’t to like?
