Description

This Halloween Monster Tree Light is the perfect way to add a spooky glow to your decorations. Simply stack 3 electric tea lights inside the orange cylinder to achieve the right brightness and place the tree over it. It uses standard 40mm electric tealights. Get them directly from Bambu Lab Maker's Supply. Check the BOM (bill of materials) - scroll all the way down. Enjoy!

Update 2024-09-14: new print profile > thicker version with 4 walls - select accordingly!
Size 100% > 165mm x 107mm x 197mm (6.4" x 4.2" x 7.6")

Check out my profile for more amazing Halloween lights.

Alternatively you can experiment with RGB tealights: https://amzn.to/4dKxGL8

Btw. you can find the illuminated houses in the background here: Scary Halloween Houses or the newer set New Set Halloween Houses

3d printing details:
0.28mm Extra Draft - yes it's rough but it doesn't matter it's a tree and it looks good when illuminated. Auto tree supports are activated for the mouth and can be easily removed. Brim is activated too. I printed it using Bambu Lab Basic PLA, black and orange. If you want to slice it in a different software please first take a look at the settings in Bambu Studio and try to replicate them, else you might get huge printing times due to unnecessary supports.

always bad results with and without designer profile and different printers

seems like you have a clog. Also filament looks very matte could be that nozzle temperature is too low. Works perfectly fine here with Bambu Lab Basic PLA.

tried several temps in several printers ( A1 and P1S), not with bambu pla, It´s not a clog, the problem was always in the same place

just released a thicker version with 4 walls (1.2mm thick) and 500k polygon count but I really don't know why you have these strange lines there. Never happened on any of my tree prints. P1S and Bambu Lab Basic PLA filament here. I still think your nozzle temp is way too low for your 3rd party filament because it's too matte.

The tree came out great, I wasnt completely happy with the 3 lights stacked in the tube as they didnt sit very well and still kept the majority of the light to the bottom so I created a couple of spacers and just use two lights, one at the top (Upside down) and the other at the bottom. the spacers hold them in place but easy to remove to replace etc.

Thank you! I wanted it to keep it as simple as possible. This is a great idea!

Great idea! I would love to print the spacers if you're up for sharing the files?

Here, I made a file that can be used to hold a tea light at the top and bottom of the tube. They are friction fit, so you can slide them into position. https://makerworld.com/en/models/670485#profileId-598178

Is this with the new model or the "normal" I did just print the "normal" version and it was not really great in the top 5cm. Seems like this one don't have the same issues. So i take this is the new model with the 500k polygon

To run directly from the app, it needs some more adjustments.

Thank you! But honestly I never use the app only desktop.

Printed great! It was a tiny bit thin I think but I’m just being picky :p

I actually did print the profile you’re referring to idk why it put the rating on the other profile. Either way still an awesome print!

I made a file that holds the tea light, so you can use two instead of 3 lights. They are friction fit, so you can place them anywhere in the tube to get the light in just the right spot. https://makerworld.com/en/models/670485#profileId-598178

Simple design. On the back some light is coming through as the top is not completely closing. But it saves support and the print is still very good. Thanks for designing this and sharing it. This will look absolutely great for Halloween.

Thank you very much! Yes it was a compromise between longer printing times or a little less quality.

I modified the model by adding a hanging eye to it and will use it as a lantern. Thanks.
