Description

This model has 0,4mm tolerance. If you need less or more tollerance let me know in comment, i have project with parametric design so can add any tollerance. On pictures you see 70% rescalled print (black cube). For best results I suggest using paint-on supports as last picture showing. The black one was printed with 0,2mm layer height, but for such small print 0,1mm should be better. Blue one is 1:1 and 0,1 layer height. It's nice stress test for your printer. Enjoy!

this is how it works :)

I suggest do not print it at less than 70% scale. At 50% it will be too fragile and last not so long. I found out 70% is the best for one handed use.

Please print it with at least 4 perimeters, hollow will break real fast.

15.11.2023 Update!

I'm uploading sturdy version of cube. It has thicker hinges and built in supports. It can be printed nice without additional supports. Built in supports should self remove after first moves.

Added updated profiles for the 'sturdy' versions, though the supports are quite difficult to remove and I don't like this version nearly as much, it grinds and pops as you move it instead of the previous version which was nice and smooth. The model damages itself significantly when they 'self remove. In fact the 50% version cannot remove supports and got binned immediately, and the 70% version is way too hard to remove supports on and I'm going to toss it as well. Manually painting supports is dramatically better.

Oh your profile prints it hollow? 😲 just use some perimeters like 4 or 5 to make whole thing solid, 2 is way too low for thing that you constantly abuse. I used 4 perimeteres for 70% and it makes it solid. I'm not sure how it will look on other filaments but I tested it with a ASA and, this supports went off pretty easy. I don't have Bambu printer and I don't use Bambu studio to post my profiles but i think like I said better solid than hollow.

I've removed the sturdy profiles since they were doomed to fail since I made the perimeters too thin. I made the other profiles have 4x walls as recommended.

Works very well, nice tolerances, printed in Bambu Labs blue filament and inland multicolor.

great print. first one broke when i tried to free it, junk filament. second one was a little snug but didnt break. i will try again with an accurate printing filament i have that doesn't give problems with PIP.

I found out 70% is the best for 1 handed use. 50% is too fragile and pins will break fast. 100% is bulky and doesn't fit in 1 hand nicely. (That's what she said ;), couldn't resist 😂)
