[Introduction]

A stylish Pen/Pencil case inspired by modern tech trends. The case is provided in 3 varieties. There's a standard case that holds 3 pens, a pencil case that'll hold 5 pencils, or a the Kaweco Sport version, which holds 3 of the Kaweco sport sized pen/pencils.

[Printing Info]

I usually turn on brims for models like the lid/base, and how I have them orientated on the end. I currently have them turned off. I highly recommend using a smooth PEI bed sheet, as they tend to have better adhesion, which is important in this situation with the way the model is orientated. If you have any issues with the model falling over, make sure you clean your bed properly, and turn on brims if you keep having issues. I printed all of my cases on a X1X

The Standard Pen Case and Kaweco Sport edition should be printable on a A1 Mini just fine, however the Pencil Case is a little too big for the A1 Mini.

I use screws from Bambu's Makersupply, and mainly design around those. However, you can purchase self tapping screws from amazon if that's easier for you. I'd recommend an assortment like this Amazon US, or you can purchase just m3x8mm self tapping screws like these  Amazon US.)

  • 4x BT3x8mm Self Tapping Screws
  • 2x Short pieces of filament cut for the hinges. (Alternatively, a cut section of a paperclip could work too for the hinge pins, as suggested/used in the comments)

[Assembly]

First, cut two pieces of filament for the hinge, making sure they fit within the holes and are a suitable length. You may have to use a drill bit to widen the hole slightly, depending on your printer and calibration of your filament. The tolerances are kind of tight. (A user in the comments used a paperclip in place of the filament, for the hinge pin, and I would suggest this idea if you have some paperclips on hand).

Secure one end with 2 m3x8mm self tapping screws, and fit the lid into place with the filament in place for the hinge, then install the other side and secure it in place with the other 2 m3x8mm self tapping screws.
