Extendable Platform for miniatures [DnD]

Extendable Platform for miniatures, which I designed for my DnD sessions. One of the druids in my party loves to be walking on the ceiling as a Giant Spider, so now she can :)

One set requires:

• 1x platform [+2x 6x2 magnets]
• 1x plank
• 1x ballast [+4x 6x2 magnets]

There are several variants of platform heights and plank lengths to choose from:

• 4 platform heights: 7,5cm/10cm/12,5cm/15cm

• 3 plank lengths: 10cm/15cm/20cm

  

Planks end with a “fork”, so you can hang a mini upside down by its base.

Ballast weights ~30g with 30% infill. Increasing infill to 99% will print a ~76g ballast. It has 4 holes for magnets, so it could be attached by 2 magnets to the platform. Platform has 2 holes for magnets.

Additional ballast can be attached to the first ballast, using magnets on the remaining free sides. Magnets on the additional ballast must be reversed! But instead of that, I recommend increasing ballast weight.

The parts with magnet holes require magnets to be inserted mid-print. The print profile is set to be paused before 80th 0.2mm layer (=16mm). You have to insert magnets in the correct polarity, so the ones from ballast would attract the ones in the platform. The parts are placed near the front of the plate for easier access.

All magnet holes are “U” shaped, so it is easy to insert magnets, but it requires parts to be printed in a proper orientation. Once the parts are placed, make sure the holes make “U” shape, not the “∩" shape. Models in the print profile are pre-set.
