Description
Intro
I created this parametric nut cover generator to protect the nuts from the environment or your kids from the nuts. I had to cover a lot of nuts with screws sticking out and different sizes of washers. That made standard covers available not suitable.
Features
- Generation of metric nut sizes from 3 to 30 following ISO or DIN norm
- 3 different outer shapes: circle, hexagon and square
- Optional support to also cover protruded screws sticking out of the nut
- Optional support to also cover a washer below the nut
- Optional vents for moisture to escape. Useful in out-door use
Hints
- Printing in TPU is recommended. You get a snug fit, it protects kids and is suitable for outdoors
- PLA is great for indoor cosmetics. Adjust tolerance, if needed for a snug fit
- When adding a washer consider that the washer might not be perfectly centered, so add a few additional mm depending on size of the center hole. The cover will be held firm with a friction fit to the nut
