Update: finished, great model thanks OP. I scaled the eyes to like 150% to make it easier to glue into the eye slots. helmet is yellow matte Bambu, ears are white pla+ sunlu that I sanded, primed, spray painted matte black. dealt with some issues with the nose of the main print but everything else has printed good so far. I sliced the nose separately and am super gluing the nose so I dont have to reprint. I wear a 7 3/8's fitted hat and I scaled the model to 118% in Bambu Slicer. Fits pretty good - maybe wouldve gone up to 119%

I havent changed anything with my profile tbh other than sizing and maybe the orientation of the right ear plate. What issues are you experiencing?

Thanks for posting the percentage you used with your hat size. I'm a 7 3/4s so ill need to go a little bigger then 119% lol and I always hate having to guess where i need to go with my fat head hahaha

the nose failed on me but everything else printed very well. I was able to save the nose pretty quickly and glued it back on later. love the detail of the helmet itself. the magents are garbage though. I’m not sure if it’s just me and I bought weak magnets or something but the 8x2 magnets I used were way not strong enough to hold the weight of the ears. the files are great regardless especially at the generous price of free. thank you and you still earned another one of my boosts.

It's not just you. The magnets I bought from Amazon do not hold the cowl pieces to the main helmet; the "wing" side is too heavy, and falls off in that direction. Did you end up gluing the pieces together? I'm trying to decide what route I want to take.

yeah just superglued the magnets of all the pieces together and it’s holding just fine. the bottom chin piece though still just doesn’t really stay and not sure best play for that

I doubled up the magnets on the helm, it holds now and still looks good, just on the yellow not both

This was a very fun print! I had a little issue with elephant foot on one of the sides, but it still came out out great. I gave this to one of my friends and he loves it. The nose piece had some difficulty when printing, but I was able to glue a section on it to fix the problem.

Came out amazing! I had to scale it up to fit my head. Definitely awesome!!! Exclude the mess, in the middle of painting.

what kind of supports did you do?

amazing design, no issues with the nose since it seems that some ppl have had issues with it, the only thing that you need to do is add support enforcer I give this a 10 out of 10.

I’ve been asking on other helmets how to adjust for head size. I have the sample head that works best for me, but unless the print is assembled how do you scale it?

I sanded mine, then added some spot putty mixed with acetone, sanded some more, then primed and painted it. It gets rid of all they layer lines I can recommend some videos on YouTube that explains it a lot better than I do if you want.

Looking at yours more, mine didn't turn out with the lines that visible. I just had a few layer lines. That's definitely going to need some sanding and painting.

This looks awesome!! Gonna try to print it this week! I did wanna suggest one change (if ur willing) so it could be easier to print on smaller machines - which would be making a version of the 'wing' portions of the model that are cut alongside the crease next to the eye, so they could be printed in 2 smaller parts and the seam from combining them would be easier to hide! Tried my best to visualize it in the attached pic. Thx for posting the model - it looks sick!!

you could try and slice it in the Bambu slicer?

I scaled the 'wings' to 119% and yes i do noticed that one suddenly doesn't fit on the plate but the other does.. i just had to move them around manually.. and use the bounding box as a reference and not the model itself.
