Description

Description

You squint in the glaring sun as you step out of the saloon. You wonder why there's a sudden hush on the busy main street and everyone is looking at you. Then you notice old wild cube bill in the middle of the street. It's high noon and he's calling you out to a speed duel. Anticipation grows as you step out to face your opponent. You reach to your side and…. you realise you forgot to print Puzzle Cube Belt Holster 3000.

Don't let this happen to you. Print your holster now!

This is the big brother to the super popular* Puzzle Cube Belt Holster 1000.

Love the design but don't need a holster?   Check out the Puzzle Cube Container 3000

Why 3000? Because the coolness factor calculations come out exactly 3:1 when you add these new features:

New Features:

  • Full colour design. You can now print your holster to look exactly like a cube
  • No supports needed
  • No glue needed
  • No tools needed
  • No external parts/screws/bolts/springs needed
  • Minimal poop due to keycap design (we all want minimal poop)
  • Slide and Snap keycaps for rapid assembly

Plus all the features all the users currently love*:

Features:

  • Support free print
  • Snap on attachable lid
  • Lid latchy thingy to ensure your cube stays secure when chasing lawless speed cubers
  • Unmistakable style that is sure to make your friend cubers jealous and your foes quake with fear
  • Ability to attach many holsters to your belt to have your collection ready for any speed showdown (you know you want to)

Printing Instructions:

The print comes on two plates. This is because you need 5 colours including black and an AMS has 4.

On Plate 1:

  • Base
  • Lid
  • 2 sides of coloured keycaps

On Plate 2:

  • 1 side of coloured keycaps

You need to:

  • Print plate one
  • The 3 keycaps closest to the front of the plate should be attached to the lid (although the difference is arguably negligible, the lid cap edge is a nanometer sharper than the rest)
  • All other keycaps can be used interchangeably on the base
  • Insert 2 sides of keycaps by sliding into position. Push until it clicks (some might need a bit of force)
  • Lid keycaps slide downwards (on an upright lid)
  • Base keycaps slide down for the top (middle) layer and up for the bottom layer
  • Change the colour of the keycaps on plate 2 to the colour you want
  • Print plate 2
  • Insert the keycaps of the final side as per above
  • Attach the lid to the base by holding it in the full open upside down position and pushing it up into the ball socks (can be done before or after keycaps)

If this doesn't make sense, leave a comment. I'll probably make an animation if I can double the user count*.

It should hopefully be self explanatory once you see the print. It shouldn't take more than a minute or two.

Sizing Instructions:

The holster comes in two sizes:

“Small” version. A loose fit for most modern speed cubes of around 55mm (2 plates)

“Large” version. A snug fit for an original Puzzle cube of around 57mm. (2 plates)

My collection is limited (but growing) so if there's additional sizing requirements please send a note.

* Popularity calculated the number of users as of 31/7/24 who really like it. 100% of the one users love it.

I think I'm going to print this just because of your sense of humor, love the model and the description

This is still and probably always will be my favourite model. What is the point in being able to design stuff unless you design stuff no one else has ever done. Who doesn't want a Rubik's cube holster? (it seems pretty much everyone but that is beside the point). If you do decide to print it send a photo. It pretty much will prove I'm completely normal and not nerdy at all. ;-)
