Description

I use masking tape and a marker to label food in my fridge. In attempting to clear junk from the top of the fridge, I designed this masking-tape dispenser/holder, with room for a pen.

Options for attaching by magnets or tape.

If you're using a magnetic version, please see the note on magnet choice below!

There are now two main versions:

  • Original: fits 2.5cm/1inch wide tape, or narrower.
    • Versions for 10x3mm, 10x2mm, 8x3mm, 8x2mm or 6x2mm magnets.
    • Version with a slot for double sided tape.
    • Version where you'll add your own slots in the slicer.
  • TESTING: A new version for 2inch rolls. Please provide kind feedback and I'll do my best to update/accomodate!
    • Versions for 10x3mm, 10x2mm, 8x3mm or 8x2mm magnets.
    • Version with a slot for double sided tape.
    • Version where you'll add your own slots in the slicer.

I may consider adding other magnet sizes if there is enough demand.

Updates:

  • 2025/01/23
    • By request, now testing a new version for 2inch wide rolls. As I don't have enough variety of tape roll brands to test, I need your help :) Please provide your kind feedback.
    • Add missing 8x2mm magnet version for original size.
  • 2024/10/19
Increased the width of the marker holder slightly, to accommodate pens with a clip up to 1cm wide. I'm seeking feedback on the durability of this, please kindly let me know :)
  • 2024/08/09
Added a version that can attach by tape instead of magnets. If printing this plate, use ~2mm thick double sided tape, or duct-tape folded over etc.

Important Note About Magnets!

  • Not all magnets are made equal :) If you find your dispenser slides down the fridge, then you need to use stronger magnets, such as rare-earth magnets. You'll find some of the cheaper Aliexpress/Amazon ones don't hold the weight!
  • Magnets are press-fit. You may not need to fill all of the magnet holes- it depends on the strength of your magnets and the magnetism of the surface you're attaching to.
