Description

Update Mars 2025:

-Add New version with backlight

-Reorganized print profile and add clock Face options

-Update classic model to use only 1 bolt length

***There is one part that needs to be printed in translucent PETG and Black PETG.

I created this clock inspired by an aircraft altimeter to give purpose to the clock kit I received with my 3D printer. Not only does it show the time with precision, but it also doubles as a pencil holder. Practical and stylish, it's perfect for aviation enthusiasts or anyone looking to add a unique touch to their desk. A cool mix of functionality and distinctive design!

A big thank you for all the positive feedback and kind messages – they really mean a lot to me!

This turned out really nice. I used Bambu burgundy cf and black cf with the addition of the bambu glow filament for the minute hand and face. I may go back and paint a glow line on the hour hand or similar.

Wow! Really cool! I hadn't thought about using glowing filament. Look's very good, thanks for sharing the picture!

Depending on how your travel is on the hour hand when it's printing you may be able to just do the last few layers with the glow in the dark filament and achieve a cool result.

that's awesome. I have the glow filament. I was wondering if you put the glow filament in the AMS to allow the layer change (i know it says not to use in AMS but for such small amount of printing surely would be fine?) or how did you force it to go external spool mid print?

Here you go! https://evandesigns.com/products/chip-light-kit I used the warm white nano led. I had to drill into the frame of the clock to fit the light. But if you have any knowledge of CAD you could probably modify the original file to fit the led nicely. The led can be a bit of a process to add to the clock but it’s a fun weekend project. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Photo to follow, neighbor "borrowed" it. Have to make another... This boost is for the great design. Edit to show pics of my 2nd build - neighbor is the pilot and there is zero chance of getting it back. Hope his pilot friends don't see his clock...

This is awesome! I put a piece of 3 inch plexiglass on it, but it was 3mm thick. Use 2mm or less. I love the twist lock on the back piece. Well-designed model that prints great!

Hi, is your plexiglasse more than 2mm thick?

Yes, my plexiglass is 3mm. I realized my mistake and printed a thin spacer ring that worked. Great print. I love the twist lock on the back piece. Well-designed.

I was searching for an idea what to do with the clock that came with my P1S. I work in the aeronautical industry and this altimeter clock will decorate my office desk soon. Very nice!

perfect!!!!! Love it. I printed the clock with a 0.2mm nozzle and 0.08mm layer. The whole Body is from black Bambu PETG HF. The clock face is printed with Bambu PLA and Ironing. If someone is interested in the print profile, I could add it to this project. At the moment i am missing the "glass" and the screws. Thanks a lot for this very good design!!! :-) Best greetings. :-)

Ohhh!! I never expect the back piece could print that way!! You might need to increase the spacer thickness with the glass and the second hand. I'm glad you like it, thanks for the pictures and kind words!

i recommend to use some spray glue on the hot plate. In this angle there was no "blue" layers in the slicer. No critical overhangs :-) Everything comes out very smooth on the back piece. Yes. I think you are right. I will need to change the thickness of the spacer. Thanks for your feedback :-)

Ultimate design. I received the kit with P1s and thought about real usage. Then, bam! This table clock altimeter was the perfect choice. Still missing the cover glass, but it looks amazing! 👏 🤩
