Description

This is a battery spacer for Ryobi One+ 5Ah battery packs with the mount points for the BMS on top. I made this as while I was servicing my battery with new cells I broke the original. Oops!

To build this model you will need two M3 metal inserts and two M3x8 or larger screws. Please note that this pack does not like to be disassembled and remain in one piece. Also consider that it can get warm in the pack and use a plastic you are comfortable with.

Also, it is a snug fit. It will go in :)

Install the two M3 inserts in the two holes indicated in the picture.
Push an allen key/hex wrench through the holes to push out the supports. Also it is worth pushing the screws through the opposite way to make sure they go through OK.
Once the batteries are inserted and the two sides are connected use two M3x8 screws in the holes indicated to connect the two halves.

any chance you could design the lower shell? I need a replacement of the older 4.0mAh LiOn bottom shell. screws go in from the bottom and a bit bigger (than the model top screw one)

or even a modification to convert the NiCad shells to hold lithium batteries. this battery holder will fit, with a little modification.

Very useful since it's much safer to just toss the original plastic and start with this when assembling new cells. You've made the world a safer place! Also, finding second life for depleted battery packs is a terrific thing to do. Have a Boost!
