Description

So my girlfriend wanted a heart shaped planter with brick like holes on the outer rim, that could fit decorative stones around the main planter body. So i made it happen. It was used as a decoration for a few graves for people that we miss a lot. Was printed in gray ASA for it's water, temperature and UV resistance.

I love the design, but I struggled to keep the bottom of the heart from warping, probably due to its proximity to the chamber fan.

Yeah, that could be it. However, i printed with asa, and my chamber fan was off, and got a slight warp in the corner. Maybe try reorienting the part? i have my chamber fan turned off for asa.

That's interesting. I also used ASA, but it was also my first time using ASA. I had read that having the chamber fan on helped with ASA since it forced the air through the filter, but I will keep that in mind for future prints. Regardless, this made a great gift for my mother, and she loved it despite the slight warping.

Great result on the first attempt. BBL ASA, 0.2mm layer, Standard and 0.4mm nozzle, no changes to default profiles. BBL liquid glue on the Engineering Plate. I set the orientation as per image after reading comments about the potential of the fan cooling parts too soon resulting in warping. I also let the part cool inside the enclosed X1-C for over 30 mins. Even then, there were audible cracks and pops as the part released from the plate as it cooled even further.

For indoor use, an option for a base without holes in the planter section would be terrific!

I’ll add that this print is 75% of the original size.
