Description

Great for dog biscuits, etc.

Width is 150mm wide and 180mm high. Can be printed on the Bambu A1 Mini.

NOTE: I have just added a version of this model that is printed in standard mode (not vase mode). This makes the model more durable and watertight. Check it out at https://makerworld.com/en/models/79550#profileId-84179

Hi - I tried to print this, but for some reason it went wrong. The jar itself is very flimsy, the button is not really attached to the sides. And the thread did not print correctly - it came out, well, as a thread. Any idea what I did wrong? I am a total newbie, so I am sure it is a setting I did wrong. I printed on my bambulab p1s, using the file as it is, using generic PLA that I have printed lots of other stuff with. Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out @Gauss3D. It looks like that filament doesn't have fantastic layer adhesion when on steep overhangs like at the bottom and near the thread. This is made worse because this is printed in 'vase mode' with only a single wall. Instead of printing this model, I suggest that you do the 'solid' model found at https://makerworld.com/en/models/79550#profileId-84179 . You can use either lid - they are interchangeable. It might take a little more filament, but the issue will go away

Still thinking about this. You didn't mention if you printed from the profile or downloaded and made the slicer settings. If hand-crafted, you must set the outer wall width to .80mm. There are other settings in the profile that are important, so I'd recommend you use it. If you did use the profile - then see answer 1. 😁

That’s big. 😁 But where is the printing file for the lid?

I'm feeling silly, it wants to infill the entire jar?

Please use the profile to print it (rather than downloading the STL), as it is set to print in 'vase' mode. The settings in the profile are tuned to give the best result.

I might have to design a special tool to open & close it! 😀

flimsy, the bottom fell out and the sides cracked

Sounds like you may be having some layer adhesion issues with your filament. It would be worth checking the ideal extrusion temperature for your filament and run through a set of calibrations.
