Description

Click HERE to check out VERSION 2.0 with CORD KEEPER

Continuing the development I started with the AMS PTFE Connecting Rod to improve PTFE tube alignment with the AMS Filament Buffer. This can be used as a standalone model to potentially reduce the likelihood of filament pull back or feeding errors and warnings. However, I recommend you use this with the AMS PTFE Connecting Rod as shown in these photos. This is a simple ten cent print and uses screws you likely already have that came with your printer.

User Feedback:

“Thank you so much for this. I was having a retract error on EVERY retract. I installed this and 300 retracts later and not one failure. Your a life saver.”

“Resolved the issues I was having with failing to pull back filament errors.”

"Printed great. Previous solution I tried didn't hold the tube securely enough."

“Does the job right”

“Printed with no problems, nice design!”

“Helped a lot!”

“Another solid design. Printed well in PETG.”

See installation guide below.

INSTALLATION:

Locate and use two screws you likely already have that came with your printer. There are two of different lengths as shown below:

Remove the one side panel edge screw on the left, directly across from the AMS Filament Buffer and install this AMS Buffer PTFE Holder using the 7.35mm screw as shown below. Do NOT over tighten. A snug fit is sufficient:

Install the 9.84mm screw as shown below. Do NOT over tighten. A snug fit is sufficient:

It is now installed! Now feed the PTFE tube through the AMS Buffer PTFE Holder and into the AMS Filament Buffer.

This user, SPStudio, is in copyright violation and also in violation of MakerWorld's Print Profile policy by using MY photos in their Print Profile. I have provided a photo illustrating the use of my photos. They likely did even test their print profile. I recommend you do NOT use this spam print profile as it is not only in copyright violation, but is also violating MakerWorld's policy for posting print profiles.

Previously you didn't a create a PETG profile so i downloaded and tested your fix on my usual PETG material and then i tried to help by posted the profile which is a PETG profile that have printed successfully on my machine. Since you don't like it then i have already removed it. Cheers and once again i apologies for filling in a PETG profile that i tested.

First, I'm happy to have print profile creators post unique and useful print profiles. However, to be clear, all the photos you used in your print profile were MY photos. Very clear copyright and MakerWorld violations. If you successfully printed your profile you could have, and should have, used your own photos. You removed it because I highlighted the fact it was in violation of both copyright and MakerWorld policies. Second, I have no idea who you are or what you have or have not created. My designs and solutions are my own. Third, while I'm very open to feedback from users of my models, I do prefer them to have actually used them before providing feedback. To be clear, I wholeheartedly disagree with your suggestion regarding my AMS PTFE Connecting Rod, my AMS Buffer PTFE Holder, and my AMS Filament Pull Back Fix. I've been testing all three for weeks on multi-color prints and they have functioned flawlessly. I have not had a single filament feed or pull back error or issue of any kind since implementing them on my X1C AMS. Lastly, if you have created solutions that fix issues you are having with your printer, then use them with joy. When I have a problem, 3D printing or otherwise, I enjoy designing and developing my own solutions. I share them with others in case it's helpful. You don't have to use mine or comment on them if you have your own solutions. Respectfully, please do not reply. I'm not here for this drama.

Not into drama at all too. I didnt even want to say anything about it till you come full blown copyright this and that. I merely got lazy to take a photo of the print that i have already done. I help u added in a working petg profile which was missing at the time i added. Thats all then u go full scale mad with all the copyright bs haha. Also i can simply take a photo and change up the photo of my petg print profile instead of removing it, but i didnt do that. I was only trying to help and since you dont like it thats why i REMOVE the profile instead of edit with my print photo. Its alright. Doesnt matter at all. Cheers.

Printed up great, and seems to work really well at keeping the filament path straight.

Looking good! I recommend you replace the buffer output guide you have. That plug is not fixed (wiggles and moves). I have one that uses the screws from the spool arm and is fixed. Here's a link: https://makerworld.com/en/models/56018#profileId-57547 I also have variants of this that can be used with the spool arm or replaces the spool arm. So, check those out as well.
