Description

About

This is a lightweight universal reusable spool for refills that screw together and center the refill core, using thin flexible tabs. They're used for centering but not to fully hold the spool so make sure you screw the two spool halves tightly to ensure it doesn't rotate.

Check the Spring

It's a good idea to check the spring every now and then to ensure it's still flexible. Printed springs under compression for a longer period can lose its original properties (i.e. not flex back).

If needed, do a reprint of the part having an actual spring only.

About - Continued

A full spool is only around 125 g.

It has an inner diameter of 54.5 mm so it fits anything pretty much, including the AMS, AMS Lite, Hydra AMS, Hydra Pro and Python AMS as well as normal spool holders and dry boxes.

It is compatible with refill spools with an inner diameter between 78.0 and 96.0 mm so it should fit all common refill spools.

Print Settings

Print the parts in the direction I have set them. No supports are needed. I recommend using 2 walls and 15% gyroid infill.

You can paint the text and pattern in the slicer if you like (Use the Paint Bucket Tool):
