Top Layer Test

Hello everyone,

I have seen several tests comparing different top layer finishes, but all these tests were without "obstacles," and one could simply say that "this" top layer looks better. However, we don't know how it behaves with obstacles.

That's why I quickly designed a model that includes several random shapes to see how the edges behave on:

• rounded surfaces,
• surfaces that are not aligned with the top layer's hatching,
• small gaps.

This allows us to see the performance of our filament under these different conditions, to check if it is well calibrated, and to determine which type of finish we prefer!

In this test, I have included the most common finishes: monotonic, monotonic line, aligned rectilinear, and rectilinear.

Feel free to add different patterns if you wish and adjust the speeds as you like!
