Description

This multi-use owl can function as exterior/interior decoration, bird deterrent, spooky lantern, plant vase, jewelry container, and cookie jar. Parts are included to attach the owl to a brick window sill or fence post. The drain holes within the owl, screw on drip tray, and eye fill inserts allow for it to be used as a planter indoors or outdoors. With an electronic tealight placed inside, the eye fill inserts can also act as a light diffuser when printed using transparent filament (shown in pictures above). All parts shown were printed using PETG.

Owl - main:

  • Supports are required only for the start of the threads since there is a slight overhang before the threads start. The rest of the model does not require supports
    •

Clamps - brick and fence:

  • Clamps work by first screwing in the primary screw (larger) to attach the clamp to the brick/fence and then by screwing in the secondary screw (smaller) to assist in firmly holding the primary screw in place
  • Owl attachment threads allow for three full rotations into the owl

Drip tray:

  • Also allows for three full rotations into the owl
  • With the drip tray fully screwed in, the owl will float slightly above the bottom of the drip tray

Eye fills:

  • Wedges help to keep the eye fills in place
  • Use the following to help distinguish between the two different eye fills. L and R correspond with the owl's left and right eyes and not when looking at the owl from the front.

Screws - primary & secondary:

  • Prints best with a brim on the base so they don't tip over when printing
