Description

Update 11/23/2023: Updated the print profile to create smoother lines on the model through adaptive layer height along with ironing the button to make it feel better to the touch. I also added accessories for the pokeballs for those who want them over here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/72372#profileId-76562

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

White2701 over on Thingiverse made an awesome Pokeball design that I wanted to print to the highest quality possible on my Bambu X1 Carbon. After some tweaks and changes, I was finally able to come up with a print profile that is both strong, quickly printed, and hides many of the imperfections a round surface printed with a 3d printer can create.

Best setting for a balance of speed and quality:
.16mm layer height preset inside the project labeled as “0.16mm Optimal @BBL X1C - Pokeball”

Leave the objects as they are. I have tuned each one to its specific need to achieve the best fidelity for the dome shape we want out of the model.

I have set the colors up how I wanted them but feel free to use the filament paint feature to repaint as you desire.

If you want finer detail you can use the .08mm profile but I have found that there are basically no differences in detail and overall outcome but it is much slower.

Summary

I want to make my own 3D print model kit Pokeball with these thing:
-No support
-Simple design, no open needed, least part as possible
-Easy to print, fun to built, no tool no glue
-Compact and sturdy for a hand toy

With that in mind, I tried my best to create my own take on classic Pokeball, and I really happy with the result.

I'd love to here your thought about the model, if you like it, give it a like, if you want to give a feedback. please comment, thank you so much!

***Update: I add a No Runner version for the black ring. Thank you for the love, I appreciated it :D

it’s in the per object settings. I had too many fail so I always left them on but each object is customized for it’s particular geometry
