Description

VERSION 2

Changes made to the main design and have been confirmed to be sturdier and easier to get the blade in. Old versions have been removed and print profiles for main model and shorter model have been added. Version 2 also includes a “push stick” in the profile to help safely install the blade.

About the Model

Cuter that makes cutting those annoying sheets of Christmas gift paper rolls smoother and cleaner.

Parts

Design is based around a #11 Hobby Blade. Packs of a lot of these can be found on amazon for very cheap.

Assembly

Once printed and blades have been acquired, you can *carefully* slide a blade into the slot. Using the printed “push stick” to push the blade further in. The lower hole is designed to allow you to use a small screwdriver to pull the blade down into place (as well as take it out).

These all turned out so good! Super clean! Sadly, one broke putting the razor in. Definitely e careful doing this and the piece is really thin and can easily break. Thankfully 2/3 are good. can’t wait to give to friends and family!

Glad to hear you like them. For the blade cover breaking, want to mention that this is a version 2 under the print profiles that makes that piece stronger and less likely to break!

That's on me. I haven't replaced the v1 model yet because I wasnt 100% sure if the v2 model was good. But i've since printed a ton and they are much sturdier.

Just a heads up, you should be able to get the blade a little deeper. If you stick a small screwdriver in the hole and force it in, it’ll go in deeper.

First when i try it, mine cannot go deeper because the blade was a bit too wide so i sand it and now it fit. do you have any link on amazon of the exact blade you used so they can fit without sanding it? thank you

Designet er fint. Men jeg kunne ikke få den til at skære gaveparpir med de knive jeg havde. Leder efter en med knive til hobbyknive...

@dangles_ sorry to report I still have the same kind of issues #11 blade (confirmed) still gets jammed half way downn .. annd have to really REALLY force it, the stick doesnnt work, I used long nose pliers- and even then couldnt get it fully seated This pic isnt all the way down .. but , on mine that I was able to push a bit further down, if you look through the ' screwdriver' window.. the top of the blade hole is not in the middle of the printed screwdriver window like your piccs - and the blade \ and printed \ piece are almost touching, whereas yours has a signficant visible gap in the photos. #EDIT - 2nd photo is is as far as I can jam it down if I really force with pliers top the point of the sidewall almost breaking like other people - in the comments (printed stick not strong enough) .. it still doesnt cut paper - just rips\tears. ## also - defintely V2 short version new file I printed.

Im having the same issue with this type of knife. Apparently there are different versions of #11 blade and the one you (and I) have doesn't work at all for this print.
