Description

Replacement travel cover/blade guard for Phillips OneBlade

Versions:

  • Guard: normal version with bump for removal at the back
  • Guard_Cutout: normal version with a cutout at the back for more flexibility
  • Guard_Short: shorter version with bump
  • Guard_Short_Cutout: shorter version with cutout

I recommend using the normal version for PETG. The version with a cutout is more suitable for PLA.

The short version is not recommended since the detent doesn't hold as well, but you might get it to work if you really want it smaller.

Filenames are:

[Version]_[Layer height]_[Filament]_[Tolerance plip]_[Tolerance press]

 

Printing:

If you just want to try out all the different versions, use the .3mf file.

Otherwise:

  • The model is designed for a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height and 0.42mm extrusion width, so i recommend you print it like this.
  • PETG is recommended for better longevity
  • Print upright
  • Print slow (the model is pretty small and has tight tolerances)
  • I recommend printing seperately for less stringing and better fit
  • Adaptive layer height is recommended to make the fillets look better
  • Tune your filament: Since this model has very tight tolerances and a small first layer it is recommended to properly tune your filaments before printing. Flow Dynamics make a huge difference on a small print like this.

Misc:

  • PETG version tested with Bambu PETG Basic Orange on Bambu P1S, PLA version tested with Bambu PLA Basic Blue on Bambu P1S
  • Works on normal OneBlade Blades and the 360 version.
  • I currently provide the model with a .15mm press fit tolerance for PLA and a .05 tolerance for PETG. This is because the PETG is flexible enough to move out of the way and I'm pretty certain that the PETG version will work fine on other printers. However the PLA version is tuned for my specific printer. If you are using a non-Bambu printer it may be difficult to get this version to work for you since they may not be as accurate. 
  • In case you want a version with different tolerances or some other adjustments, feel free to message me. I've got the whole design parameterized so it would be pretty easy to upload some extra versions.
