Description

this rubber band gun works awsome and,

Prints on one plate and simple assembly :)

I prioritized quality and durability with this print so feel free to adopt the settings I used,

That being said this printed great.

All creddits to @SanfordPrime_562474 for this amazing model

https://www.printables.com/@SanfordPrime_562474

Stanford Prime also have a youtube channel,

with a video of tests and assembly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj-jqfyAKiA&t=654s

Standford prime used sandpaper and drill for the pinholes,

That being said, with the selected profile and my P1P I did not need to sand or finnish my parts in any way.

I Just took a rubber hammer, but would suggest to do some light sandpaper'ing on the pin holding spinning wheel, as that are the only moving part. (trigger moves of course but uses tension and don't spin around the pin holding it.

My method of using the hammer was a Jeremy Clarkson move born from a lack of patience :D

IMPORTANT:

there is a cutout hole in the top of the fireing pin (see picture),

Thats designed for you to Cut and put some filiment in it.

(I just used a knife to slim the ends of it)

As I am sure you would not want the gun to missfire in a high stakes rubber gunfight with your friends ;)

With the filiment as shown in the picture, you make sure the gun fire each and everytime without issues, so defenitly do that ! ;)

Also totally check Stanford Primes video out ! he shows the assebly in a really good way

Again thanks to him for this incredeble fun rubber band gun!

pretty ok design, good ideas, but putting them all together doesn't quite work. The trigger "spring" breaks easily when used by kids. Recommend using a more springy material than pla (def don't use cf pla!) The rubber bands get stuck on the hammer of the trigger. Currently the dowel pins are press fit everywhere, which makes it lock up, oversizing the holes in the spindle and trigger would make everything move nice. gun looks great though, and my boys love them.

hi, I actually appreciate you taking the time to write this feedback very much! sorry to hear that the trigger have been breaking, at least for the rubber bands getting stuck, be sure to use some filliment in the firing pin hole on the top side if you haven’t already :) (I will attach a picture) with the pla I used it still hasn’t broken, but using petg for the trigger is a great idea. hopefully you will be able to get it working so your kids can play with out having to worry about it breaking. /BR malte

I wondered what that hole in the hammer was for. looks like one of those "did you even read the instructions?' scenarios. thanks for the tips, I'll try them out!
