Description

My machine isn't enclosed and I wanted a way to protect my wife and daughter from blindness if they decided to come in my craft room while my laser was running. I also wanted a way to mount jigs quickly and love using magnets. I designed a system that solves both problems. The side rails have slots that allow for home depot whiteboard to be placed in to block the laser light and magnets are placed aligned with every mounting hole to allow for quick swapable 3D printed jigs.

This is designed for a bed with M6 mounting holes spaced 25mm 13 on the X axis and 11 on the Y axis

It uses countersunk M6 20mm bolts and 5 x 3mm magnets

I figured most people that have a fiber laser also have access to a CO2 laser so I included the DXF for laser cutting the shields.

I use a 6mm aluminum plate on top of my work surface to prevent brass dust from entering my laser housing, so I have included versions that account for the plate as well as versions that allow for attachments to lay flat on the work surface.

This is a work in process and I will add more as time progresses.
