  • A single spool slot only requires 26g of filament. That means you won't be using up all your precious filament on bins, boxes, rollers or hooks that don't do nearly as good of a job storing your hard earned rolls of plastic.

Before You Print Considerations:

• Hooks have a max diameter of 35mm and are designed to fit coat rack rods ~32mm in diameter. Smaller/Larger rods may work but YMMV
• Please make sure you're first layers are PERFECT for the hanging strips!
• If you have a large amount of spools I recommend doing a bit of planning and print many of the same parts together to save on time, especially if you are printing the labels with 2 colors.
• While you can expand the SPOOL-MATE vertically as much as you want, there is a theoretical limit to how much weight it can handle. I have not found this limit and my own comfort level sits at 6 spools per row. Please be mindful of the weight you are putting on the SPOOL-MATE.
• The initial SPOOL-MATE design I have hanging in my closet has PETG hooks and PLA hanging strips. It has been hanging since 6/09/2024 and has not failed, I will add an update if that changes.

• Layer Height: 0.2
• Infill: Gyroid 15%
• Wall Loops: 3
• Material: PLA/PETG
• Supports: None
• Brim: None

Hanger Hooks:

• Layer Height: 0.2
• Infill: Gyroid 20%
• Wall Loops: 5
• Material: PETG (PLA might be fine but the hooks hold the most weight)
• Supports: None
• Brim: None

Labels (Multi-Color):

• Layer Height: 0.2
• Filament change after layer 3 / start of layer 4
• Infill: Gyroid 15%
• Wall Loops: 5
• Material: PLA/PETG
• Supports: None
• Brim: None

Assembly:

Starting with a starter kit is recommended

You will need the following to get started:

• Hanger Hooks 2x
• HangerHookCap 2x
• Rack 2x
• Hanging Strip 4x (See Labels for more options)
• Cap-L 2x
• Cap-R 2x

Follow the images below for assembly

Make sure hanging strips are fully seated into the hook/rack or else the caps wont fit

Make sure caps are snug. You don't want them falling out!!

Assembled SPOOL-MATE. Make sure you have at least 2 Racks

Horizontal Expansion Hook. This replaces the existing hook to allow another SPOOL-MATE rack to be on either side.
