Description

The New Snap-Together (Tool-Free) Jurassic Park Sign:

Redrawn, redesigned, multi-layer, multi-color and snap-together Jurassic Park Road Sign.
Both pieces (the Island and the Icon) print face down flat on the bed for a perfect professional finish.

Important Note: Make sure both the Island and Icon are printed at the same scale or they will not fit together properly. I have them both sized to X - 105%, Y - 105%, Z - 100%

Also: Releasing an Icon from the Island can be a little tough the first couple times, especially if you're not pushing from the correct angle. Make sure you push in line with the sliding dovetailed section.

This model was designed for future snap-in interchangeable icons. I will be adding more soon!

Icons:

Standard Bathroom (Build Plate 2)
Movie accurate Bathroom (Build Plate 3)
Dilophosaurus Icon (Build Plate 4)
Velociraptor Icon (Build Plate 5)
TRex Icon (Build Plate 6)
Dinosaur Paddocks (More Coming soon!)
Dock (Coming soon)
Welcome Center (Coming soon)
Movie Theater (Coming soon)
Other…? (Coming soon)

Smooth All Around!

The snap together design lets you print both pieces on the bed, this means the entire sign will have that nice textured look and feel without sacrificing the 3D aspect!

Color Efficient Too!

This design also utilizes parts to minimize color changing; saving time and making less poop :)
For the Icon and Island color changes, only the first 1mm of the part prints a different color than the entire body/infill. This also makes choosing different colors easier, just select the parts in the object viewer and change filament color, it's that simple!

Multiple Islands! Get the snap you really want :)

With different filaments and profile settings you're going to get varying thicknesses to your extrusion, to counter this I've included multiple build plates with Island Signs that have different sized connectors, with most Islands I've included a sample connection print, try it with your icon and see how it fits before you print the entire Island:

STRONG LOCK - No Sample print, this was the first Island I created and that sucker was just too hard to disconnect. Use this if you want a permanent hold.

LOOSE LOCK - Try this one if your filament has a history of being a little over extruded, this one might be too loose for the average user.

LIGHT LOCK - This one has a better hold, but its still a little light on the grip. It might be just perfect for you depending on your filament.

GOOD LOCK - This is my favorite. I use Bambu PLA Filaments and this strength has just the right amount of bite in my book…

COMING SOON!

I'll be adding more icons soon, please comment below with a description and/or picture of the icon you'd like to see added next!

Test printing a new TRex Icon I just finished, if all goes well I’ll be adding it tomorrow! Also testing out a 2nd island model with a .35mm offset slot, this might reduce or eliminate the initial difficulty unsnapping icons the first couple of times.
