If you store the filament in a drybox, you might encounter a situation where the filament retracts back into the drybox, causing the filament on the spool to loosen. Installing this tool can prevent the filament from retracting back to the spool and, to some extent, prevent this issue.
As you can see, the filament retracts into the drybox, but not back onto the spool.
Print instructions
There are two directional options for the model: one where the filament exits the drybox from left to right, and the other from right to left. This only affects whether the filament path is fully visible after installation. If visibility is not a concern for you, you can ignore this difference.
Installation
Attach the "base" to the side of the drybox using glue or double-sided tape.
Thread the filament through the tool.
Mount the tool onto the “base”.
Pull the filament out of the drybox.
Pull the filament from outside the drybox, then push it back in to ensure the tool works properly.
Others
If your retraction distance is particularly long, you may encounter problems, although I am not exactly sure what they might be. It is recommended that you consider shortening the retraction length.
This tool may slightly increase resistance after installation, but it should not be a major issue. If the resistance is too noticeable, try adjusting the position of the tool to create a smoother angle for the filament path.
If you have any problems or suggestions for improvement, please leave a comment.
Please let me know how the tool works for you after installation. I look forward to your feedback!
