Description

This is a gadget to ad the latching ability to your sliding door when you install a pet patio door panel for creating a doggie or kitty door within your sliding door frame.

The panel I used is available here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001812WO2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Once we installed this panel, it was a perfect fit, but we lost the ability to lock the sliding door by simply locking it onto the latch hook. We used to add a screwing ledge type of locking mechanism to keep the door from sliding back, but that took a lot of effort and needed a step to reach for vertically challenged members of the household.
I designed this simple gadget to the exact measurement of the panel at the above link. Should fit any standard sliding door.

Now that we installed this to our pet door panel with two scres (screw holes are 5 mm in diameter), we are able to lock the sliding door with one move again. (Recommended to fix the pet door panel to the existing sliding frame with screws at the top and bottom from inside, otherwise the panel will slide out when locked with this gadget.)

I printed it with PLA-CF but any filament other than TPU should do…
