Description

Model

Inspired by Johny3D bed scraper design, here is a simple yet effective bed scraper, with a sturdy and reliable way to swap the blade when needed.

I was very happy with his scraper, until the sharp end started to wear, making it less effective at his job…

So that's why i decided to develop my own, with a blade that can be swaped to avoid having to reprint the entire scraper every time.

The latch mecanism was tested more than 200 times by different users, and the blade still doesn't move at all when it's locked.

The blade uses 1.5g of filament to be printed, ensuring a fast print and a super low cost per unit.

Printing

This bed scraper is easy to print, with no supports requiered for the handle and the blade.

I recommend printing the blade in a stronger material than PLA, for example i used ASA for mine. It will provide a longer life time before needing to be swapped for a new one.

Assembly

Insert the blade into the handle and press the latch until you hear a “click”.

Just be careful that the blade is all the way in before trying to lock it in place, especially the first time.

To swap the blade for a new one, press the latch on the handle side until you hear a click as well, then, simply pull the blade out while holding it by the sides and install a new one !

Be careful, since the blade edge is very thin, it can hurt !

Credits

As mentioned, this bed scraper was inspired by Johny3D work, but it is my own model.
