Is this designed for left or right handed use?

The default for the model is right handed. If you need a left handed version you can mirror on the Z axis in Bambu Studio and it will point the blades in the right direction.

Understood. Just wondering why the blades are positioned the way they are. Seems like that rotation would pull it toward the ground.

This is what i thought too.. thrown right handed the blades would push air upwards forcing the disc down.. if thrown left handed they would push air down forcing the disc up. seems to be that this is left handed by default and needs to be mirrored for right handed

Printed with 4 walls instead of 6

Made one out of PETG. It doesn't generate any lift at all. Flies about the same as a rock.

The design does require a considerable amount of spin in order for the toroidal design to take effect. Slow speed flat throws result in about the same amount of distance as a standard airfoil ring. If you are left handed you may want to mirror the disc along the z axis due to blades facing the opposite direction of spin.

Yeah, probably if I threw it really hard it works okay. It maintains it's spin. Basically it's about the same as a frisbee-golf disc. Would likely work better if outer edge was thinner.

I don't know if you're familiar with disc golf but I can throw at about 60mph and average 1200-1300 RPMs so I'm curious to see if that's the kind of spin you're referring to when you say you need considerable spin.

建议出一个把玩的动图。或者使用视屏。

我确实考虑过。由于大小和速度的原因,相机很难拾取光盘。也许我会再试一次。

have yet to throw it but i see some problems: -feels very heavy for a frisbee that size -toroid propeller part looks make for anti clockwise spin so it is for left hand throw i'm afraid cool design though, after testing i might design my own one to adress those things

Yeah, i saw that right after posting my comment and very quickly printed the v2 one too. That one looks far better proportioned weight/size wise, will test it next week.
