Description

The Wheel Generator is designed to produce wheels compatible with TT Shaft, N20 Shaft, and NEMA17, generally suitable for all wheels used in RC models and DIY robots. It also allows for the creation of wheels with custom shafts and passive wheels with screws. The generated model can feature a separate rubber component for TPU printing, or it can produce a wheel as a single piece. In the case of the wheel with TPU rubber, once imported into the slicer, it will be necessary to perform an “Object Split” to arrange the pieces on different plates.

Additionally, it is possible to generate test wheel hubs to assess the grip on the shafts by printing only the relevant part. All wheel components are highly customizable. We recommend printing the wheels with the outer rim facing upwards, supports enabled, and excluding the shaft hole from the supports. Enjoy using the Wheel Generator!

****UPDATE 20-06-2024****

Some improvements to the structure and the ability to print tires in rigid materials. Thanks to user HighLatitude for the idea!

Would be great to have a ‘Solid Tire’ option. I adapted the output model to accomodate this - Only changes needed were to extend the mounting ‘notch’ in the tire, and increased the inner tire diameter by .1mm. Did not need the ‘depth’ of the notch changed, it was fine for a nice snug fit. Thanks!

Thank you for the idea of the solid tire. I am already working to integrate it. I am always interested in proposed improvements, when it is possible for me to implement them. Unfortunately, I am not very expert in OpenSCAD and I do what I can. Thank you. You will be credited.

Used it to create baller replacement wheels and tires for my 4x L ego car and truck. This parametric model maker produces a clean mesh that is easy to import to F360 for customizing. Thanks!
