Description

Luck Dragon Infinite Scale Edition

Features:

  • Separated into individual links and pins for giant scaling.
  • The included print profile is set to 350% - This will make the dragon over 5ft in length.
  • You can make this dragon any scale that your printer allows by editing the scale amount within your slicer.
  • 2.25kg of filament and 2d9h of print time if you are printing at 350% scale.
  • Each section is separated and given its own plate within Bambu Studio.
  • RAW STL's are also included for people not using a Bambu Lab machine.

Assembly:

  • Place 2 adjacent links together.
  • Add some super glue around the through hole and into the recessed hole in the link you are working with.
  • Insert the correct pin.
  • Spray some activator to instantly set the pin in place, or hold in place until the glue has fully set.
  • Repeat this from head to tail until the dragon is complete.

Extra Info:

  • You must pay attention to each link and its corresponding pin. They are all slightly different and only identifiable within the slicer (by the object name).
  • I have separated each link and its pin onto individual plates to make organisation of parts easier.
  • Tolerances are nice and loose around the pins, so you may need to push them against one side of the hole in order to get the glue to bond properly.
  • RAW files are at 100% scale and will need to be adjusted to suit your desired scale.
  • I have included a second head that is split down the centre and includes locator pins on one side (for help with alignment during gluing). This is if you're planning on doing an extremely large dragon as the head is the largest part to fit on one plate.
  • The red parts in the renders are the removable pins, for reference.

I am yet to print this at full scale myself. I have done adequate testing of the smallest links at 350% scale to ensure proper fitment and functionality, so there should be no concerns with the rest of the larger sections. I will update this upload with pictures of my build when it is finished.

This model is based on my previous upload where the Luck Dragon is fully assembled and print-in-place.

You can find that variant here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/467648#profileId-376757

It has taken a lot of work to edit the model and set up the slicer in order to make it infinitely scale-able, and I really hope you enjoy making this one :)

Thanks for looking :P
