The extension is useful for taller machine applications such as Ender 3 V3 PLUS

Print the splice extension with the large flat face down on the print bed. Support is required under the triangular mount for the side cutters.

 

Print the ball joint mount with the underside of the ball fully supported. The two parts can be screwed together with the supplied hardware in the Universal Spool Stand hardware kit: M3 x 10 thread forming screw.

 

The actual runout sensor is mounted to the ball joint bracket using the supplied QTY:2 M3 x 20 thread forming screws.

 

There is a printable “dummy” runout sensor that can be installed in place of the original. You can reuse the original runout sensor hardware, and the original PTFE tube collet and locking clip can be inserted into the dummy sensor. Then the PTFE tube can be installed into the dummy sensor and tied to the print head cable to help keep it propped up and prevent it from sagging.

Creality Ender 3 V3 PLUS

QTY: 2 M3 x 10 Socket Head Screws at rear of the top frame member. See video below for install walkthrough. It is shown on the standard sized Ender 3 V3 but the process is identical.
