Description

UPDATE: I've uploaded the Fusion360 and STEP files for easier remixing in case you can't find the Titan blower. Also check the comments and remix section - there are mods for cheaper roomba filters, philips car filter, active carbon pellets etc. Happy printing!

AirManager V2 is a recirculating air scrubber for 3d printing enclosures. It generates no draft because the air is recirculated inside the enclosure. It removes VOCs and fumes inside the printer enclosure. It is mainly used for printing ABS, ASA, Nylon and other filaments with high VOC content. If you are still unsure whether you need an air scrubber, there are many posts and discussions on the Internet that can help you become fully informed.

I use the Zortrax filter set but by now there are way cheaper alternatives out there. Btw. the sizes of the Zortrax filters are:
Hepa 120x120x16mm
Activated Carbon 120x120x10.5mm

I’ve tried to integrate snap-fit connections in the filter housing. They kind of work but are not the best (this is my first try on snap-joints, feel free to do a remix). You need to use super glue on the snap-joints if you want the filter housing cover to be firm. You can use this device also as a solder fume extractor.

Bill of materials:

4x Neodym magnets N52 ø10mm x 3mm
12x 2,9mm x 9,5mm ISO 14586 (DIN 7982) screws
2x M4 x 35mm screws
2x M4 washers
2x M4 nyloc nuts
1x Titan Blower TFD-B9733M12C
1x HEPA & Carbon Filter set from Zortrax (3sets)
1x Self adhesive foam rubber (thickness 2mm)
1x PWM low voltage motor speed controller with switch 12V/2A
1x DC power jack socket with ø8mm thread

The 4x Neodym magnets are integrated into the “blower housing magnetic cover”. Just add a pause or filament change in the slicer at “layer 20” or “height 4mm”.

Fix the funnel with two stripes of self adhesive foarm rubber to the titan blower.

The fan blower has plenty of suction and does not need to be on full speed.

If you don’t have the metal server cabinet as enclosure use the “blower_housing_screw_cover” to fix the AirManagerV2 to your enclosure.

Here is a short test video of the AirManagerV2 with an incense candle:

Print instructions

No supports needed but I used a brim on all parts to avoid any possible warping. I used Prusa PETG for all parts but I think you can use PLA too.
