Description

I absolutely loved this Vintage Radio case for the HomePod mini and I wanted to make one for the HomePod mini I have in the bathroom. That one needed to be mounted on the wall, however. So I took the file into Tinkercad and added screw holes in the back and removed the feet.

With the first iteration, I realized that having the back pressed against the wall left the sound coming out of the speakers sounding muffled since the front grille was the only place sound could come out. So I added small 2mm hole grilles on both sides as well as a 2mm line grille in the bottom. This allows the stereo sound to come out much better.

I included the original grille and ring cover in the file as well as some fake knobs I designed that fit into the holes in the front grille. I find the knobs make it look much more like the original Braun radio.

Make sure to print the case with hybrid tree supports so the piece in the middle is supported well, the grilles on the sides won't need support.

I printed mine with Bambulab Matte dark blue PLA for the case, silk black for the front grille, and silk copper for the embellishment pieces.

Thank you for this model. I love taking something existing it and modifying it in some way. This is both beautiful and useful and it's been a fun model to make a finish.
