Description

Hello everyone, this is my custom made set of base and stands for ships used in the tabletop wargame Star Wars Armada.

Included in this 3mf file are the following:

  • Small, medium and large ship bases in a standard, skeleton, and a match set with the option to use 6x2mm magnets for the shield dials.
  • Ship base toppers for matching bottom bases.
  • Small keyhole, small peg, flotilla peg adapter, medium keyhole and large keyhole ship stands.
  • Standard shield dials with matching snap cap.
  • Magnetic shield dials meant to be used with the matching magnetic base variant.

To use these please choose a ship base type (small, medium, large) along with a single matching topper, choose a variant (stock, skeleton, magnetic), choose the ship stand you would like (small, medium, large, keyhole or peg and flotilla adapter), and then print at least four matching shield dials to go with them all.

I have arranged all models in the best printing orientations so I suggest you leave them.

Because of the printing tolerances involved with Armada ships I suggest printing in no higher than 0.2mm layer height and you may need to adjust your XY hole and contour settings. 0.05 to 0.13 on both worked well for me but please test your print settings and tolerance before mass printing to make sure the fit works for you. These parts may need gentle sanding or hole boring with a manual hand drill to achieve a perfect fit.

The friction of the ship base and topper connected with an Armada cardboard and stand should be enough to keep them together but alternatively you can add a drop of superglue between the two to keep them together very firmly.

For the magnetic shields, you should superglue a 6x2mm round magnet to the interior of the shield dial but it is not necessary to do the same for the base side. Before gluing please ensure the magnetic polarities are matching! You can purchase these magnets on the Bambu store below or any other retailer.

If you notice any issues, or have any questions please feel free to let me know and if you like these please consider gifting a boost!
