Description

The High Security Commander Deck Box is designed to 100 double sleeved Magic The Gathering (TM) cards (or similar) in its main compartment, along with space for a hard sleeved commander and 20-30 additional tokens, or dice.

The key feature as you will no doubt have notice are the two large draw latches on the sides of the box. This is the core feature of this deck box which are intended to keep the box closed and safe! In my own search for a 3d printable option for deckboxes I tried several and found they all have the same fundamental flaw; they are weak. Many rely on nothing more than a couple millimeters of PLA to hold the top on and in my own real experiences, they often fail with even a small drop from a playtable or trunk. There will always be limits to FDM structures, but I believe with this box I have come to the limits of what are possible in a reasonable form factor.

FEATURES

  • Strong draw latches on the side keep the top on even in falls up to 5 feet on to concrete (PLA , 15% infill)
  • Showcase window for your commander or other favorite card! Designed to work with 3x4in hard toploaders
  • Space for 100 double sleeved cards
  • Space for 20+ tokens and/or dice
  • Stackable design! Top and Bottom have room for four 2x8mm magnets to help with stacking boxes (could also use a 4x8mm plug, not included)
  • Deep grooves to easily grab your deck! No more 100 card pickup!
  • Simple assembly! No screws needed!

ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove brims and burrs
  2. Lay main box on its side and place the U shaped “lever” into the groove in the box, rounded side into the box.
  3. Insert 2 short pins into the hinges near the top, make sure the grooves on the pin are “outward” to catch the bumps inside the wings on the box. This may be a little difficult but once it snaps in it should be secure.
    1. Tip: When inserting pins, you may wish to use a coin to protect your thumb or a small clamp to insert the pins.
  4. Align the “hook” with the bottom end of the lever and insert the long pin taking care to have the grooved end toward the front (showcase) side of the box.
  5. Repeat on opposite side
  6. Place cards into box, put the top on, and latch the hooks into the grooves on the top.
  7. Apply firm pressure to snap both latches down
  8. Enjoy!
