I like having somewhere to put dead batteries until I can take them to be recycled. So I made this little bin that looks like a battery. It has a twist-off lid and should store a decent number of batteries.
If you live in the US, you can recycle batteries at any Batteries Plus location.
If anyone's wondering, the color change and lid seam are in different places because the lid is unusable as storage. So I made the lid relatively small since the seam is largely invisible. It would also be a more challenging print if the lid were larger.
Printing
Color change is at the start of layer 413. If you have a multi-color printer, you can split the base into parts and color the two different parts. You don't have to do anything special for a single color print.
The lid is printed right-side-up. It is designed to be printed without supports. There is a built-in brim that prints on the inside of the lid. I highly recommend you use the built-in brim. The brim should fall off on its own, but if it does fuse with the model you can remove it with a deburring tool without damaging any external surfaces.
I used Mika3D Shiny Red Copper PLA for the top and Elegoo black PLA for the bottom.
